I am excited to bring my years of NICU experience and my own personal experience as a mother of two to support new families as they welcome their babies. I am a certified Postpartum Doula (Childbirth International) and Certified Lactation Counselor (Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice). Education & Experience
My background is in Community Health, and I received my MPH from Boston University. After working in research and health communications at major institutions, including NIH, I went back to school to become a Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Therapist. I have a combined 7 years of experience caring for infants and children in the ICU at Boston Children's and Brigham and Women's Hospitals. I have attended over a hundred high-risk births! I have cared for the tiniest of infants born as young as 22 weeks through post-term, and I continue to work in the NICU part-time as a research coordinator. I have Basic Life Support certification (adult/child/infant CPR) from the American Heart Association, and I am a Neonatal Resuscitation Provider through the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Chickadee & Hen
What's the name about? I used to own a sewing business, where I created stuffies and loveys for babies and kids. I called it Chickadee & Hen, a cute name for baby and mama birds. I didn't know it at the time, but the name would be perfect for my next venture in life!
